Mrs Siciliano's AP seniors read the memoir Boys in the Boat, they were very excited to find out it had been made into a movie. A time was decided on, and anyone who could come were able to to enjoy the movie and discuss the differences between the book and the movie !

Congratulations to the HP Boys Basketball team for winning the 2023 KSA Events Holiday Basketball Tournament at Walt Disney World this week! Anthony Reyes was named tournament MVP and the team played some outstanding basketball! Congrats to Coach Hartman and the boys! #GoHP

The HP boys basketball team is enjoying the week at Disney World in Florida. They are competing in a tournament at the ESPN sportszone and spending some free time at the parks for some team bonding! The boys are 2-0 and headed to the championship game tomorrow! Bring home the "ship" boys!

The Park Hockey Team sponsored a "Teddy Bear Toss" at their game this week. In between periods, fans tossed a total of 287 teddy bears onto the ice and they were delivered to the children's hospital at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston! The giving spirit on display in our school community!

The HIVE program purchased presents for two underprivileged boys. The students picked out gifts for the children while learning the importance of giving back. It is their hope that the boys' holiday is extra special this year. The giving spirit is alive and well at HP!

Congratulations to Nick Gatsonis and Ryan Haberman for earning the Highest Chair in the North Jersey Area Symphonic Band! They will perform a concert next month with other top musicians from around northern NJ.

Forty-five Hanover Park and Whippany Park juniors and seniors along with students of other NJ schools had a wonderful opportunity to participate in the Newark College of Engineering at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) Engineering Career Day on December 8, 2023. NJIT engineering faculty and students spoke to the high school students about different careers in engineering and work options for engineering: biomedical, electrical, mechanical, chemical, and industrial engineering. Engineering students also demonstrated and showcased their projects focused on robots, vehicles, drones, and medical devices.




The Key Club and the National Honor Society sponsored Operation Holiday and collected toys and items for 3 local families in need (a total of 17 children). We are hopeful that their holiday will be a little brighter this year thanks to our generous school community!

Select Hanover Park students had an opportunity to visit an accounting firm, Withum, located in Whippany, NJ. The students learned about how different fields of accounting, finance, marketing, and cybersecurity work interdependently in this business and the students engaged in various networking and career opportunities while speaking with Withum associates and visiting the different sectors of the facility.
